Archives 2008
Well well well. Summer is at the end. The hoppers are here and the fishing is only getting better. 40 to 70 eats a day on hopppers, with big fish slashing these big dry flies is what is so exciting about this time of year. The land of the giants is still fishing great with a lot of big fish rolling in. We are getting more browns this time of year, but no one has been able to break the 28 1/2" brown caught at the end of July.
We are expecting great things for the fall. Their are a lot of fish going to try and fatten up for the long hard winter. So book you trip now for Sept. and Oct. We are seeing our first wave of caddis for the fall and the BWO's will be right behind them.
Next report Sept. 15th ish

Wow, August is here already here!!! Our July was one for the record books. Lots and lots of big fish. Dry flies (caddis, PMDs, and tricos) are in the air. Thanks to a large snow pack, fishing has been incredible all year long.
We also have a new leader on the big fish of the year board. Doug Milner landed a monster 28 1/2" brown trout last week. This fish would have easily gone over 10 lbs. Congrats to Doug for landing such a fish of a life time. Book your trip now to see if you can land the next big one and take over first place on our biggest fish of the year.
August is here and we are expecting great things. Tricos in the morning, hoppers through out the day, and caddis in the evenings. There are plenty of fish to be had by all.
We have had a great summer so far and many of our guest are re booking before they leave for next year (2009). So book now and book early.
Tight lines and we will report again on Aug. 14, 08.
New website!!!! Let us know what you think?
April and May fishing this year was as good as I have ever seen. Large numbers of fish in low water conditions made a lot of happy fishermen. The pre-runoff had great streamer fishing and when our rainbows returned from the feeder streams they were eager to eat.
June to early July. As you may know, large snow packs and plenty of rain has finally given the Mighty Mo the runoff we have needed for the past eight years. The river hit a high of 15,000 cfs in June. Fishing was different but we managed to find enough fish to make everyone happy. The first week in July the river is at 11,000 cfs and we are now seeing our first dry fly action. PMD's, caddis and yellow Sally's are what the fish are dinning on.
I expect the fishing to be great through July and only get better the rest of the summer.
August should have great dry fly action with tricos and hoppers. (5 stars)
Sept. - Nov. will be just as good with our caddis, BWO's, and midges. (5 stars)
So book your dates today and don't let the big one get away.
Charlie Moorehead still has the big fish for the year, a 26 1/2" rainbow. It could be you that takes the title this year, so why not give it a try?
