Fishing Reports

Archives 2009

It's Late Sept.

It's late Sept. and the fish are still feeding and being caught. Thanks to a very wet and cool summer our water conditions have been great for the fish. This means GREAT things for next year. So book your trips early because the calender is starting to fill up. We also have some space left for late Oct. and if the weather permits you can take advantage of discounted rates for Nov. and Dec.
I would like to thank all of you who have come out this year and made it to the MRL. I hope you all had as much fun as we did with you. Lindsey and I have been working hard this year to give you all an X-Stream vacation.
I have not had to many days off to up date the web-sight and that is a good thing. Guiding fisher people comes first and this season has been great for that. I hope to see all of you again real soon and keep us in mind for your next vacation.
WHATS HAPPENING ON THE RIVER
Right now the water is on it's cooling down process. Which means fish are trying to fatten up for the long Montana winter. October caddis, midges, and some hoppers are still around. We are looking forward to our BWO hatch and some of our last dry fly action of the year.
Weeds are dying in the river so casting for accuracy is key. If your cast gets in clean in the right spot the fish are more than willing to eat. The small fish have moved in to the river and there is a lot of them (next year's crop). This is also another great thing for next year. All these 10-12 inch fish will be 16-18 inches next year. So call or email us now to reserve your dates.

We have been on the river quite a bit this month and with the high water we are "killin" em. We are at the normal 25-50 Fish days and the weather has been great. We had a snowfall- about 22inches here and 28inches in the mountains...but wouldn't you know it, since we are in Montana it was gone within 2 days! So with things back to normal we are enjoying our time out on the river!

The water is to be slowly let down and are looking at an AMAZING June!

The Biggest Fish caugth this Month was by Mike from CO and it was a 25 1/2 inch Rainbow Trout...We shall see if he holds the title for the 2009 Season?????

Thank you to all of your Family who came to see us!
